Naturally Flyy Hair Meet Up

I am taking a small cyber break from studying... I attended the Naturally Flyy Hair Meetup at Artist Village in Detroit. The turnout was bananas! There was over 500 men, women, and children at the event. Here's some photos of the event!

Brief Updates about My Summer

AHHHHHHHHHHH...


I have been so busy that I forgot to blog.


Well, I will give you a brief summary of what is going in my life. 


I am taking a cooking class with an local chef in my city, her name is Maia Crown. She is an amazing teacher. 


As you know I love to travel so I am travelling all over the map..  I have pictures to share with you!


I attended the Chrisette Michele concert last night ..and a local performer Dal Bouey.

(Pro Life) I choose LIFE

Over the last couple of weeks I have been complaining about my weight and eating habits. Well, it's time to be about IT and change my ways.


I decided to make a change for life but of course I do not want to overwhelm myself. Therefore I am making a few small changes a day.


My ultimate goal for my life is to be health: mind, body and soul. I want ooze positivity and love.


               I can't possible ooze anything good if I am not fueling myself with pure things.


Now, I have made the decision to choose life *I want to live* God has opened doors. 


                                           I guess he was sick of hearing my whining.


Last week, I stumbled across a Farmer's Market on the campus at a local college. What a TREAT to stumbled upon! ( It bought back such sweet memories of when I work at one!) I made some very great choices for meals, I did not have a blue clue what for so I have been experiencing.


Look at some the meals I have created:

Jill Scott's The Light of the Sun Album Review

Aaaah I can NOT express how much I love the new Jill Scott album! 


The sound is fresh, up beat and soulful! 


Jill has graced us with such a vulnerable look into her life throughout The Light of The Sun.

Scott recently gave insight of her album in a interview with reporter at the BET awards, "The album is poetry to music... a woman's journey.. emotions.. ."

I had to ask myself after each tracked played if Jill read my personal journal. 


      *Wait is this me singing on this track?? Oh, yeah other women go through this too??*

Here are some MY favorite tracks: 

DOPE Burberry Glasses.. I love it! 

*Le Boom Suite Vent- This song is literally BOOM.. Miss Scott delivers the news to her lover, it's over!  The track begin with a force underlined with a heavy bass line. As the track progresses, Scott changes the melody and tone of the song to a sweet sassy jazzy flow.. 

*So Gone (What My Mind Says) featuring Paul Wall  -  hmmmmmmmmm this song is so hawwth! I will let Scott describe the song for you.. Hmmm yeah... Please click on the link below.

*Missing You - I honestly can say this is my FAVORITE song on the album.. This song was a product of a jam session where Jill begins scats & coos softly into the microphone. The melody picks up with slight African drumming. She sings about the absence of her lover and presence.. *Haven't we all been here before?* 

I recommend YOU.. *yes, you right there* purchase this album if you appreciate soulful music!
